# The difference between survey templates and themes and review templates and themes

## This article explains the difference between the templates and themes at Surveys and at Reviews

Templates for both modules are built from various themes, there are some differences between them.

---

**Review**

- **Themes:** Topics include business performance, aspirations and skill evaluations with a focus on the employee. Topics include different types of questions, such as open-ended questions, rating questions, skill evaluations, or planning goals.
- **Templates:** Examples such as performance appraisals, year-end interviews, or interviews at the end of the probationary period.

**Surveys**

- **Themes:** Contain questions that measure sentiment from employees regarding an internal issue for the organization. Themes include diversity, workload, and leadership.
- **Templates:** Mainly used for Employee Satisfaction Surveys, mood measures, or onboarding evaluations.
